Group and private swim lessons offered at Cranberry Waterpark

Regardless of your swimming proficiency or that of your children, Cranberry Waterpark has an instructional program to fit this summer. In addition to group lessons, Cranberry’s pool instructors are also offering one-on-one private lessons – lessons tailored to the individual learner’s unique needs for anyone three or older. Six levels of group lessons are offered for children ages 3 to 12 beginning with an introduction to water skills and progressing to fundamental aquatic skills, stroke development, stroke improvement, and stroke refinement. Each level requires mastery of the previous level; instructors determine the child’s appropriate entry level at their initial class. Each class, regardless of level, lasts 30 minutes. Most classes are offered each weekday for two weeks; other are taught once a week on Saturdays for five weeks. Program fees range from $40 to $80. Private lessons, which typically produce results more quickly are also available. Waterpark members receive an additional 10 percent discount. Start dates for weekday aquatic classes are June 20, July 5, and July 18. Saturday-only classes began June 4. Most group classes are taught in the morning with start times of 8:45 and 9:20 AM. Evening offerings of introduction to water skills and fundamental aquatic skills are available starting at 8:10 PM. Details are available in the 2016 Summer Recreation guide or online through the Township’s website. Online registration is available at either, by phone at 724-779-4FUN (4386), or in person at the Parks & Recreation Customer Service Desk in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center. Fees are payable at the time of registration. Located in North Boundary Park, the pool is open to the public daily, 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM through Labor Day.
