Sisters of St. Francis Golf Tournament
Participants will enjoy a scramble format as they play 18 holes of golf with a noon shotgun start. There will be opportunities to win a variety of unique skill and hole-in-one prizes. Lunch, dinner and a live and silent auction are also part of the day’s events. In addition, a super square raffle will give participants a chance to win $2,500. Winner need not be present or participate in tournament. Sponsorships, underwriting support, golfers, auction items and gift certificates are welcome. Proceeds benefit the mission and ministries of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities as they serve people in need. The Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities is a congregation of more than 400 vowed women religious whose origin goes back to St. Francis of Assisi in the 13th century. The sisters’ Franciscan spirit, rooted in the Gospel, motivates them to continue God’s work and respond to God’s people wherever there is a need with reverence, justice and compassion. Together, the sisters serve in 12 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as in Kenya and Peru in the fields of education, health care, mission work, retreat/prayer ministry, social services, parish ministry, child and adult day care. In Millvale, the sisters are sponsors of Franciscan ministries which include: Mount Alvernia Day Care and Learning Center; Tabor House of Prayer and Change A Heart Franciscan Volunteer Program.
