11th Annual Vigil of Hope
Drug and alcohol addiction and its attendant tragedies, have touched countless
Americans from all walks of life and from all backgrounds. Over the years, families and friends have found individual ways to remember their loved ones. The eleventh annual “Vigil of Hope” brings the community together to remember those who have lost their lives, offer hope for those who still struggle with the disease, and celebrate those who have found recovery. Participants are encouraged to bring a picture of their loved one.
Each Vigil features guest speakers relevant to this issue in addition to the remembrance ceremony. Featured speaker at the 2016 service will be Dennis C. Daley, PhD, Senior Clinical Director, Substance Use Services, UPMC Health Plan, and most recently, a Professor of psychiatry and social work, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. He’s experienced in clinical care, research, and teaching. Additionally, he’s written many books and recovery guides including co-authoring A Family Guide to Addiction and Recovery.
