Classical Music Under the Stars
Treat yourself to a summer evening of elegant melodies that reach across the centuries! Attendees will experience the height of musical accomplishment against a backdrop of rolling fields, forests, and the Eden Hall Campus heirloom apple orchard. Featuring Pauline Rovkah,piano and Adam Liu, cello. Adam Liu joined the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as assistant principal cello in 2003. Prior to this appointment, Liu held the position of associate principal cello with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra under Charles Dutoit. Mr. Liu has been the featured soloist with many fine orchestras world-wide, including the symphonies of Montreal, Victoria, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, San Antonio, Baltimore, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh. Pauline Rovkah is a concert pianist and the Head of Piano Program at Chatham University. Ms. Rovkah participated in several well-known Music Festivals, such as at the Chautauqua Institution; Peacham, Vermont; and Cambridge University. She is a founder and Artistic Director of Chamber Music series at Chatham. Rovkah’s solo recitals and chamber music performances have been recorded and broadcast by the Pittsburgh Classical Radio WQED. Free to attend. No tickets required. General seating.
