Handbell 41st Annual Festival Concert
North Hills Handbell Association will present their annual concert. Nine area handbell ensembles will gather to perform under the baton of this year’s guest conductor, H. Dean Wagner. Mr. Wagner is an internationally recognized composer and arranger of organ and handbell music and currently serves as the Director of Music Ministries and Organist at the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. This concert will include several of Mr. Wagner’s works, including two new compositions which have not yet been published. Also featured will be nationally recognized handbell soloist, Sue Garton. The North Hills Handbell Association was the brain child of Carol Robinson and Lois Buterbaugh, as they addressed the need for a massed handbell ringing event in the North Hills area. The first North Hills Handbell Festival was held in 1976 and has continued as an annual event since that time. NHHBA is proud of its tradition of hosting outstanding guest conductors. Many of our conductors are published composers and offer participants a time of musical growth with the unique experience of performing original compositions and arrangements under the composer’s baton.
