TUESDAY NIGHT BOOK GROUP On Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. we will discuss Soldier Girls: The Battles of Three Women at Home and at War by Helen Thorpe. SECOND FRIDAY BOOK GROUP Our book for discussion on Jan. 8 at 11:30 a.m. will be The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. Inspired by actual historical figures, it is a story of two women's struggles for freedom. MYSTERY LOVERS BOOK GROUP Join us on Thurs., Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. to discuss Vanish, one of the popular Rizzoli and Isles mystery series by Tess Gerritsen. SERIOUS READERS BOOK GROUP If you are someone who enjoys reading and discussing books of historical significance that have influenced and shaped the economic, political and cultural development of the United States you should join this discussion group. The meeting will take place on Sat., Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. STORY SWAP StorySwap, an open forum to swap stories, practice the ones you may have or just sit back and listen. This group is intended for older teens and adults and meets on the first Monday of the month, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. No registration required. NORTHLAND KNITTERS Got a knack for knitting? The afternoon circle will meet on Fri., Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. The evening circle will meet on Tues., Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. NORTH HILLS GENEALOGISTS This group will meet on Tues., Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. to learn about researching death records to understand the data, as well as how to analyze clues for new discoveries.
