CABIN FEVER READING CLUB RETURNS! From January 1 through February 29, you can beat the winter blues by curling up with some good books during the cold winter months and enter for a chance to will a gift certificate for a local restaurant or store. Stop at the adult reference desk after New Year’s Day to pick up your Reading Club booklet. For each book you read in one of the categories, you have a chance to win a prize. The popular Bookshelf Bingo will return in June! INDIAN COOKING CLASS On Thursday, January 7 at 7 p.m., Ann Manchella, our favorite Indian cook, will demonstrate the preparation of a popular vegetarian breakfast dish, Aloo Paratha, a whole wheat flour dough stuffed with a spiced mixture of mashed potatoes cooked with butter or ghee. As always, tasty samples of the dish will be served at the end of the program. Please register. TAME THE SUGAR MONSTER! You know it’s bad…but how bad? Are all kinds of sugar off the table? Join Kathy Parry, food coach and corporate workshop speaker, on Thursday, January 14 at 7p.m., as she reveals the dangers and addictive nature of sugar and how your habit may be aging you! Always maintaining a no judgment zone, Kathy will also let you know how much sugar is okay and the top 12 ways to kick your sugar habit. She presents a practical session full of information and humor as she helps you tame the sugar monster and inspires you with her passion for "real food." Please register.
