Fox Chapel Area School District students will hold their 26th annual telethon Wednesday, December 23, 2015, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This year, the telethon will raise money for Live Like Lou, which was started by two parents in the Fox Chapel Area School District to help ALS patients and their families in Western Pennsylvania.
The public is also invited to make donations through the Live Like Lou website at [ http://www.livelikelou.org/telethon/ ]http://www.livelikelou.org/telethon/. Donors can choose to support families and research (top button) or the University of
Pittsburgh Center for ALS Research (bottom button). When choosing to support families and research, be sure to check “Fox Chapel Area Schools” in “Fundraiser your donation supports” from the dropdown menu. Anyone wishing to donate by check can make the check out to “Live Like Lou” and drop it off at any of the district's schools during school hours.
Comcast cable customers will be able to see the telethon live on Channels 96 or 98 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. December 23. Customers with Verizon FIOS can view the telethon live on Channel 28. The telethon will also be streamed live on the district's website

Live Like Lou, a fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation, is a local organization focused on raising awareness of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's Disease), supporting scientific research targeted at finding a cure, and providing care for
ALS patients and their families in Western Pennsylvania. Specifically, the Fox Chapel Area telethon will support Live Like Lou Patient Care Fund grants, the Iron Horse Awards for Kids grants, and the Live Like Lou Center for ALS Research. Live Like Lou
was started by Neil Alexander and his wife Suzanne in 2012. Unfortunately Neil passed away in 2015, but his wife continues the work of this important charity in his honor.
The students in the Fox Chapel Area School District have donated nearly $628,000 (more than half a million dollars!!) to various local and regional charities through their annual telethon over the last 25 years.Visit Event Website for More Info
