Shaler Area to host Broadway in the Burgh

Shaler Area School District will host an exclusive opportunity to hear two acclaimed Broadway stars in concert. "Broadway in the Burgh," a matinee Broadway concert featuring Broadway stars John Cudia and Kathy Voytko, will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Shaler Area High School auditorium, 381 Wible Run Road. The Shaler Area Choir Parents Association, in collaboration with the Theater Arts Parents of Shaler and Shaler Area Stage Crew, is presenting the event with all proceeds to benefit Shaler Area choir, theater arts and stage crew. John Cudia is the star of Broadway's "Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Miserables," star of The Broadway Tenors and a critically acclaimed operatic tenor. Kathy Voytko is a star of Broadway National Tours "Phantom of the Opera" (Christine), "Evita" (Eva Peron) and Broadway's "Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder," "The Pirate Queen," "The Frogs," "Nine" and "Oklahoma!" These two stars are coming to Pittsburgh to sing their favorite tunes and share backstage stories of their experiences on Broadway. The pair will be performing, accompanied by pianist Corinne Adkins and Shaler Area High School Chamber Choir, Women's Choir and Shaler Area Middle School Vocal Ensemble. There also will be a brief meet and greet opportunity for audience members after the show. All seating is reserved, and tickets are $40.
