North Hills High School Invites Community to Library Open House

North Hills High School library and media center has undergone a total renovation over the past few months, and the library and high school staff will welcome visitors on Dec. 10 from 6 to 7 p.m. The high school library and media center is found on the second floor of the high school located at 53 Rochester Road, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15229. The high school library has evolved into a learning environment that, in addition to research, promotes creation, collaboration and critical thinking. The renovations complete a two-year re-envisioning process that endeavored to increase usability and update educational technology offerings and capabilities. Students and teachers will benefit from: · Video production and audio production spaces · 3-D printing capabilities in a new makerspace area · Apple iMac computers · Creation Stations that provide small group instruction/teamwork rooms that have integrated technology including large-screen televisions and Apple TVs for collaborative presentations and project development · Comfortable furniture pieces that incorporate charging stations for laptops and mobile devices · A distance learning lab outfitted with Polycom technology to promote the use of videoconferencing and virtual field trips
