BASS-ically Classique with a Touch of Jazz 6th Annual Symphony Salon
The Pittsburgh Symphony Association is comprised of dynamic volunteers who are dedicated to supporting and promoting the Pittsburgh Symphony and its musicians. Through fundraising, community outreach, educational programs, audience development and special events, the PSA has raised more than $7,000,000 over the years. This fall the PSA is celebrating the 6th annual Symphony Salon. The Symphony Salon, BASS-ically Classique with a Touch of Jazz, will take place on October 11, 2015, from 5:30 -7:30 p.m., on the twelfth floor terrace of the Reed Smith Centre. Symphony Salon is an intimate evening for the major PSO supporters. It features cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a private concert by select members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. This year it will feature the string basses. Jeffrey Grubbs, Peter Guild, Micah Howard, John Moore, and Aaron White are the musicians who are organizing an evening that promises to be beautiful, eclectic and fun--music and stories you won't hear at a PSO concert. In addition, we will have a touch of jazz, featuring renown jazz vocalist, Tania Grubbs. Our guests come away each year knowing they have experienced a very special evening of music and feeling like they have truly gotten to know the PSO's musicians. The venue is a favorite of our guests, featuring views from Mt. Washington and Market Square to PNC Park and the Roberto Clemente Bridge. The event is limited to 200 people.
