Breathe Pennsylvania, southwestern Pennsylvania’s
only locally-based lung health organization, announced that enrollment is
now open for the 31th annual Camp Huff-n-Puff for children with asthma. This
year’s event will take place August 13-16 at the Jumonville Camp and Retreat
Center in Uniontown, Pa.
The four-day overnight camp is designed for children ages 8 to 13, and
enables campers to participate in educational sessions covering
self-management of their asthma. A staff of medical doctors, nurses,
respiratory therapists and volunteers—including counselors with asthma—will
be on hand at all times to help campers enjoy a safe, educational and fun
experience. Supervised activities include swimming and team challenges, and
campers will enjoy air-conditioned cabins and three meals per day.
Camp tuition is $125 for residents of western Pennsylvania. Breathe
Pennsylvania also offers full and partial scholarships, based on financial
