10th Annual Vigil of Hope -- Wednesday, June 3, 2015
Drug and alcohol addiction and its attendant tragedies, have touched
countless Americans from all walks of life and from all backgrounds. Over
the years, families and friends have found individual ways to remember their loved ones. The tenth annual “Vigil of Hope” brings the community together to remember those who have lost their lives, offer hope for those who still struggle with the disease, and celebrate those who have found recovery. Participants are encouraged to bring a picture of their loved one.
The Vigil of Hope will be held on Wednesday, June 3, at 7 PM at the Passavant Hospital Foundation Legacy Theatre, next to Cumberland Woods Village on the campus of UPMC Passavant McCandless.
Dr. Michael Flaherty, a clinical psychologist with more than 30 years’ experience in the prevention, intervention, treatment, research, and policy development related to substance use, addiction and recovery will be the featured speaker at this service. During his career, Dr. Flaherty was a Vice President of the St. Francis Health System and Director of its Institute for Psychiatry and Addiction Services, the largest such facility in Pennsylvania.
