2nd Annual Achilles Hope & Possibility Race and Adaptive Sports Expo
The 2nd Annual Achilles Pittsburgh Hope and Possibility® Race will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 at the North Park Boathouse. All proceeds from the event will once again benefit the Pittsburgh Chapter of Achilles International in their support of athletes with disabilities. After the overwhelming success of our inaugural race, we’re excited to host this event again. Be sure to check out what one participant called “the happiest race I’ve run!” The Hope and Possibility® Race is open to everyone. Runners, walkers and hand cyclists of all ability levels are welcome. Participants can choose from a 5K or 10K race, or do both! The 1-mile Family Fun Run/Walk is a great way for families to show their support. Please take this opportunity to support local athletes with disabilities while enjoying the fun, positive atmosphere with your family, friends and everyone from Achilles Pittsburgh! If you are an experienced runner, take this opportunity to support other athletes, compete against others for a PR, or use this race as an opportunity to prepare for the Pittsburgh Marathon. We’d also love to have you as a volunteer or guide. We’re looking forward to seeing you on April 11, 2015 at the North Park Boathouse! New in 2015 – the Adaptive Sports Expo! Pittsburgh is home to some amazing and innovative organizations who strive to improve the health and well-being of those with disabilities. Some of those organizations will be on site on race day to showcase their products and services and to connect with anyone who could benefit from their services. There will be something for everyone; from adaptive kayaking to ballroom dancing for amputees to assistance for veterans!
