FOREIGN FILM: Drama from Sweden, Wednesday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. Daniel, a successful international conductor interrupts his career after he collapses from exhaustion and returns alone to his childhood village in Norrland, in the far north of Sweden. TRAVEL FILM: Ireland, Wednesday, March 18 at 2 p.m. We will visit the Emerald Isle in honor of St. Patrick’s Day in March. We will learn about Ireland’s myths and legends TUESDAY NIGHT BOOK GROUP On March 3 at 7 p.m., the group will discuss Little Failure by Gary Shteyngart. It is the story of a boy and his family, who emigrated from the Soviet Union to the United States in the late 1970's. SECOND FRIDAY BOOK GROUP Our book for March is The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin. A. J. Fikry, cantankerous owner of an independent bookstore is despondent after losing his beloved wife and some of his precious rare editions.Bring your brown bag lunch on Friday, March 13 at 11:30 a.m. MYSTERY LOVERS BOOK GROUP Track of the Cat by Nevada Barr is the book for discussion in March. Barr introduces Anna Pigeon, park ranger who uncovers the motives behind the murder of another ranger. Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m. SERIOUS READERS BOOK GROUP The February meeting will take place on Saturday, March 28 at 11 a.m. STORY SWAP StorySwap, Pittsburgh’s guild for local adult storytellers will meet on Monday, March 2 at 7 p.m. This is an open forum to swap stories, practice the ones you may have or just sit back and listen. WRITERS AT WORK If your interest lies in writing as a hobby or a career, join this group to share helpful writing techniques and ideas for creative writing, from basics to steps toward call Hana Caye at 412-364-0877. The afternoon circle will meet on Friday, March 20, at 1 p.m. The evening circle is the fourth Tuesday each month and will meet on Tuesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. NORTH HILLS GENEALOGISTS Tuesday, March 17 at 7 p.m. discuss ways to organize your files and easily find them by using the free application, Evernote.
