PRHS to Host Empty Bowls Fundraiser
Students in the Pine-Richland High School (PRHS) Ceramics and Family & Consumer Science classes in cooperation with the Interact Club will be holding the seventh annual Empty Bowls luncheon on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the PRHS Atrium, 700 Warrendale Rd. in Gibsonia, PA.
Participants can purchase beautiful handcrafted bowls for only $10 and receive a luncheon of soup or for $5 purchase a soup and bread luncheon. Children 5 and under are free.
PRHS Interact Sponsor Kathy Dalverny says all proceeds will be donated to the Lighthouse Foundation’s food pantry, which serves families in our community. The foundation is located at 1302 East Cruikshank Road, Butler, PA 16002.
Participants can also enjoy a basket auction and silent auction. Organizers are currently accepting soup and auction donations.
In addition to Mrs. Dalverny, PRHS Art Teacher Mary Andreassi and Family Consumer Sciences teachers Kathy Bylinowski and Heidi Davis are mobilizing the efforts of students, who plan the project from start to finish.
Students raised $1,200 the first time the fundraiser was hosted and now double that figure each year.
