Community Donation Drive to Benefit the Habitat ReStore

Volunteers and Habitat staff members will be on hand to collect new and gently-used goods, including furniture, appliances, décor, and hardware for the Habitat ReStore, the proceeds of which allow Habitat to address substandard housing in the Pittsburgh region. Thanks to the support of Guardian Storage, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh will be holding a community-driven donation drive on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from Noon to 3PM to benefit the Habitat ReStore. Made evident by the many volunteers who assist us in our efforts to address substandard housing (over 3,500 in 2013), our organization is driven entirely by community support: we cannot empower families in need without the compassion and generosity of individuals in the Pittsburgh region. Fox Chapel area resident and Habitat volunteer Lisa Rutkowski, who is organizing the drive, stated, “Habitat needs the support of the community, and this drive is a tremendous way to help. Whether you want to donate to a good cause or simply get rid of unused household goods, items donated to the ReStore help fund Habitat’s projects in the area, and really make a difference not just in the lives of the Habitat program families, but the entire community.” Starting at Noon, Habitat volunteers and staff members will be on hand to collect new and gently-used items including furniture, appliances, décor, hardware, and other household and office goods for the Habitat ReStore, the proceeds of which will benefit needy families in the Pittsburgh region. All donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes. For more
