Animal Frineds hosts "Bark in the Dark"

Pittsburgh’s best party for the dogs, Bark in the Dark, returns to Hartwood Acres on Saturday, August 23. The family-friendly summer festival hosted by Animal Friends kicks off with a dog walk and vendor fair followed by a comedy set by Jim Krenn and an evening concert by “One Sweet Burgh,” a Dave Matthews Tribute band. The festivities get underway at 5 pm with registration and pre-walk activities including games, pet vendor fair, kid’s area, canine massage tent, pup-arrazzi photo booth and dog paw painting. Local food trucks will be providing a variety of refreshments. The dog walk will kick off at 6 pm. New this year is Jim Krenn’s “Pet Look-A-Like Contest” guaranteed to be a comedy show in itself. Pet owners and their look-a-like dogs can vie for prizes and recognition on stage at the event. As the sun sets, Bark in the Dark will just be warming up. Guests are invited to spread out a blanket, laugh along with the comedy of Jim Krenn, and enjoy a nighttime concert by “One Sweet Burgh.”
