Three Rivers Storytelling Festival
For 14 years, the Three Rivers Storytelling Festival has presented a two-day storytelling festival that features national and regional tellers, workshops, master storytelling classes, Liars’ Contests, Ghost Stories, and Youth Programs. It has received foundational and organizational funding to support its work in promoting awareness and appreciation of the art of oral storytelling to intergenerational and multi-cultural audiences throughout Western Pennsylvania. We invite you to participate in the 2014 Storytelling Festival from August 8 through August 9, 2014 in Pittsburgh, PA. We have new special events happening around Pittsburgh leading up to the main festival at Winchester Thurston, reaching out to new and diverse audiences. National tellers this year will be Andy Offutt Irwin, Charlotte Blake Alston, Megan Hicks and Gregory Gibson Kenney. All storytelling sessions are free and open to the public. So stay for an hour, stay for a day, or stay for the weekend. There will be food trucks available to give you energy, and a Story Store where you can purchase CD recordings of your favorite tellers to take home with you.
