Fort Necessity National Battlefield hosts Encampment
Fort Necessity National Battlefield will host an 18th century period military encampment on June 22 and 23. The encampment will highlight camp life of British and French Soldiers and Natives Allies during the French and Indian War. The camps and will be located near the reconstructed Fort Necessity at the park’s main unit. Re-enactors will demonstrate the daily life of French and British Regulars, American Provincials, French-Canadian Militia, civilians and Native American warriors when not on campaign. Special programs on camp life will be offered each day at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. will be followed by demonstrations of historic black powder weapons The programs will take place rain or shine and visitors are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather.
