Wintry Mix Got You Down?
Escape to the National Aviary for Summertime Somewhere (21+ Event)
It may be a cold winter in Pittsburgh, but it's Summertime Somewhere! Escape to the tropical habitats of the National Aviary right here in Pittsburgh for a 21+ night of summertime fun, Friday, February 22, 6 pm to 10 pm.
Guests can explore the National Aviary’s immersive habitats at night, including the Tropical Rainforest where Wookiee the sloth (a nocturnal animal) is likely to be active, enjoy a tropical drink alongside colorful parrots, or challenge friends to rousing summertime lawn games, all while supporting the National Aviary’s important work in conservation, education and veterinary medicine.
The evening’s highlights include live music with summertime favorites courtesy of Joel Lindsey; wine, signature tropical cocktails, and tasty brews from Penn Brewery (available for purchase); tasty, tropical food from Atria's (light bites included with ticket, heavy hors d'oeuvres and meal items available for purchase). Guests can also create make-and-take crafts and treats for the National Aviary’s birds and bats to enjoy and watch one of the National Aviary’s talented parrots paint an artistic masterpiece. Additional interactive activities can be included in the evening for an additional $5 donation, including holding and feeding a toucan; rainbow lorikeet feedings, and Birdly®, an exhilarating full-body flight simulation experience that allows the rider to fly like a bird through New York City.
