IT’S TIME FOR BOOKSHELF BINGO Starting June 1, stop by the adult reference desk to pick up your Bookshelf Bingo card and find out what fun, new categories we have this year. Between June 1 and August 31, read as much as you can for your chance to win prizes. We can't wait to see what great books you choose to fill in your Bingo card! For questions, call or stop by the adult reference desk.

STAR WARS DAY Saturday, June 2 from 12 -4 p.m. Join us to kick off summer reading with our very own Star Wars Day all-ages extravaganza!

Schedule of events:

Noon – Stop by one of our welcoming tables to get a list of the day’s activities and learn about summer reading

12 – 4 p.m. – Various craft projects will be going on down in the CATS department or get started on our scavenger hunt

1 – 3 p.m. – Head outside to get a picture with members of the 501st Legion

1 – 2 p.m. – Join us for the Kids/Family trivia contest in the meeting rooms

2 – 3 p.m. – Join us for the Adult trivia contest* in the meeting rooms *To register for one of the trivia contests, call or stop by the CATS or Adult reference desks*

3 – 4 p.m. – Head outside to round out the day with a costume contest

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE GREAT AMERICAN READ Wednesday, June 6 at 7 p.m. We want to know if you agree with the PBS list of America's 100 best loved books. Come to the Library to view a screening of the Great American Read special on PBS, then we will share our opinions to determine our own list. Come ready to defend the book they missed or to state your case for removing some of the books currently on the list. Book lovers unite! Our local PBS station, WQED is sponsoring this program to provide food and beverages. Registration is required.

LANDSCAPE WEAVING DEMO Thursday, June 7 at 7 p.m. North Hills Arts Center teacher and board member Ruthann will be here to demonstrate a unique method of weaving. Using a picture frame to create a loom, she weaves a landscape. She will walk through the steps in this process and show off several examples of how this can be done, with woven landscapes that portray all four seasons.
