North Hills Community Outreach

NHCO’s annual Back-to-School Collection is on North Hills Community Outreach NHCO is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for students in kindergarten through grade 12. Items needed include backpacks, notebooks, binders, paper, folders, pencils, pens and calculators. Good quality teen backpacks with sturdy zippers are especially needed. Gently used Texas Instrument graphic/scientific calculators are also needed for high school students.       

Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 9a.m. - 4p.m. through August 3 at any NHCO office including NHCO Allison Park, 1975 Ferguson Road, Hampton, or NHCO North Boroughs, AGH-Suburban Campus, 100 S. Jackson Avenue, 2 South, Bellevue.

NHCO provides free home safety checks for seniors North Hills Community Outreach can provide a free home safety check for senior citizens living in northern Allegheny County north of the City of Pittsburgh. Trained volunteers will do a thorough safety check, install smoke detectors or change the batteries in current smoke detectors. After the check is completed, seniors may request free grab bars to be installed in a bathroom or a free railing installed in a stairwell inside the home. Those installations will be done at a later date by a state-licensed professional contractor, at no charge.
