"I CAN RELATE TO THAT”: A MENTAL HEALTH Q&A SESSION Join us for a town hall style gathering as our panel of mental health experts listen to your questions and concerns and offer answers in a comfortable, safe setting. People are generally aware of the importance of physical health but often don't consider how dependent physical and mental health are on each other. Our panel will answer your questions and examine how contemporary life has impacted our collective mental health. Registration is required. Join us as we celebrate 50 years of connecting communities. This program is part of a series of programs for everyone that allow us to look at our past, present and future.
NORTHEAST PA COAL & FOLK MUSIC Blueberry Hill Park Activity Center Join musician Jay Smar as he shares songs from our region's coal miners during the early 1900's as well as some original and traditional folk and bluegrass tunes. He'll play guitar, fiddle, and banjo and the performance will include gospel music and flat-foot clog-dancing. Registration is required.
JOURNEY FROM THE ATTIC Monday, Learn to tap into your family's past! Pamela Israel from Unlock Your History will talk about how to make sense of some of the family heirloom documents that are often passed down across generations but are frequently not in English. She will also dig a little deeper into the #1-claimed heritage in the US, German, and recommend when to consider getting help with these documents. Registration is required.
THAT WAS VAUDEVILLE Join us for an evening of music, comedy, and yodeling! Entertainer Stephen Lee Rich will share music from the heyday to the declining years of Vaudeville, talk about what Vaudeville was, how it worked, and its cultural impact, and share anecdotes about the stars of the era who went on to star in films, radio, and television. Registration is required.
