VISION DEVELOPMENT AND ITS IMPACT ON LEARNING Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. Vision allows us to accurately identify and interact with the world around us. When someone suffers from a visual disability, it can alter the way they experience daily life. Developmental Optometrist Dr. Prazer will explain how vision is developed, what vision tells us and how it impacts our ability to learn. Registration is required. DIGITAL BOOT CAMP FOR PARENTS - Digital Identity Saturday, March 10 from 9 – 10 a.m. CCAC North Campus, Room 3002 Melinda Bondarenka, Pennsylvania State Police Public Information Officer, Allegheny County will be our speaker. With online applications for athletics, college, and financial aid part of kids’ day-to-day lives, parents need to understand the best ways to protect their digital identity. Join us on Saturday, March 10th as we discuss the nuts and bolts of keeping your child’s future safe. It will be held at the Community College of Allegheny County, North Campus; Room 3002. Registration is required and space is limited. TECH TALK Monday, March 19 from 1 – 2 p.m. Want to learn about trending or useful technology and digital resources? Join our panel of librarians as they talk about the tech they think you should know! Listen to their suggestions or tips or come with questions of your own. Registration is required for this adult program. IS A WHOLE FOODS DIET RIGHT FOR YOU? Monday, March 19 at 7 p.m. A Whole Food is a food that has been through little to no processing, which helps it retain its natural fiber and nutrients. Join Dr. Josh Golojuh as he talks about exactly what a whole food plant-based diet is, how it can help with common illnesses, and how to get started. Registration is required. IN THE LIND OF DUTY: DISABILITY COMPENSATION FOR VETERANS Thursday, March 22 from 7 p.m. Do you or a loved one have in-service injuries or illnesses, or are you concerned about the future of a loved one currently serving in the military? Accredited Veterans’ Disability Benefits attorney, Michael Quatrini, will go over disability compensation and benefits available for veterans who were injured while serving their country. Registration is required.
