100 PERCENT PITTSBURGH
Fox Chapel Branch of American Association of University Women
What will it take to reach 100%? That’s the question The Pittsburgh Foundation is striving to answer through its 100% PITTSBURGH initiative. And the foundation is strenuously examining what it can do to bring every member of the community on board to benefit from Pittsburgh’s resurgence and prosperity. 100% PITTSBURGH focuses on expanding opportunities for two of our region’s most vulnerable groups: youth ages 12 to 24 and female-headed households. Single women with children are being left behind in record numbers; they’re more than twice as likely to live in poverty as married-couple homes. The Pittsburgh Foundation is working to help solve the problems holding these single moms back, not by telling them what they should do, but rather by going right to the source and asking them what they need to help themselves. Our co-presenters are experienced in the field of health and human services. They combine those skills with a passion for The Pittsburgh Foundation’s commitment to make our community better for all Pittsburgh’s citizens, not just some. Is 100% possible? Let’s find out from two women who are on the front lines of making it happen. Speakers: Christy Stuber, Donor Services Officer and Michelle McMurray, Senior Program Officer The Pittsburgh Foundation The public is welcome to attend this free AAUW-sponsored presentation. AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, philanthropy, education, and research.
