Family Volunteer Days
Global Links, a Pittsburgh-based humanitarian aid organization, has always valued children as capable members of society and welcomed them as volunteers to assist in our mission of ensuring that no one suffers for lack of basic medical care and materials that most of us take for granted.
Through our new, dedicated Family Volunteer Days, families with children of all ages can work together in a supportive, safe and educational environment sorting and preparing equipment for donation. Participants learn how the materials they are preparing provide life-giving -- and in many cases life-saving -- treatment, support and comfort to vulnerable individuals, and to those living in areas hit by natural disasters.
We invite you and your family to experience this for yourselves by participating in an upcoming Family Volunteer Day. When you do something to contribute to society beyond yourself, you not only feel good, you want to do more. And that is good for everyone.
Presented by UPMC / UPMC Health Plan, Global Links Volunteer Days feature volunteer shifts designed for families with children of all ages. Shifts are available on the following Saturdays:
November 18 10 am to 12 noon or 1 pm to 3 pm
December 9 10 am to 12 noon or 1 pm to 3 pm
December 16 10 am to 12 noon or 1 pm to 3 pm
Registration is required, as space is limited. A donation of $10 per person helps Global Links offset the cost of sending these items where they are needed most. Please email sbodow@ loballinks.org to learn about financial assistance for this event available through UPMC.
Family Volunteer Days take place at Global Links headquarters in Green Tree, located at 700 Trumbull Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15205.
