Northland will be closing early on Wednesday, November 22 at 5 p.m. and will be closed on Thursday, November 24 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

MAGGIE LEFFLER AUTHOR VISIT

Thursday, November 9 at 7 p.m.

Join us as we welcome Maggie Leffler, author of The Secrets of Flight. She will talk about her novels and writing process, and her books will be available for purchase at the event.

Maggie Leffler is the author of three novels: The Diagnosis of Love, The Goodbye Cousins, and The Secret of Flight. A native of Columbia, Maryland, Leffler graduated from University of Delaware and volunteered with AmeriCorps before attending St. George’s University School of Medicine. After completing her residency in family practice, she became a board-certified family physician. Registration is required.

DIGITAL BOOT CAMP FOR PARENTS: DIGITAL ETIQUETTE

Saturday, November 11 from 9-10 a.m.

CCAC North Campus, Room 3002

Part of our Digital Boot Camp for Parents series, this session will cover the nuts and bolts of digital rights and responsibilities. The goal of this session is to lay the groundwork for the series and establish a digital etiquette standard in accordance with professional expectations and those of the local school districts. The speaker is Jennifer Ehehalt, Pittsburgh Regional Manager at Common Sense Media. It will be held on the CCAC North campus; Room 3002. Registration is required and space is limited.

GENEALOGY LOCK-IN

Friday, November 17 from 6:30 – 10 p.m.

Back again by popular demand! Northland Library and the North Hills Genealogists are teaming up for another After Hours Genealogy Lock-In. This evening of hands-on research requires general computer skills as you will search for your ancestors using online databases, including Ancestry Library Edition, Heritage Quest Online, and more. Research volunteers will be on hand to help.

Participants should bring a flash drive to save copies of documents and information you may find. Advance registration is required due to limited space.
