Beaver Valley Artists
- Gadi Leshem will be the guest artist at the November 9 meeting of the Beaver Valley Artists. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m.in the Merrick Art Gallery at 1100 5th Avenue, New Brighton, PA. He is a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors and the Cranberry Artists Network. He is a resident of Marshall Township.
Gadi is a self taught sculptor. His main interest is classical figurative sculpting, mostly portraiture. He has Always loved sculpting,and five years ago started taking it more seriously studying sculpture with books, videos and online resources,
Most of the sculptures are water based clay and he often uses pictures as reference material. His favorite sculptures are by Rodin.
Gadi is a computer engineer in a company located in Cranberry Township.
He grew up in Israel and came to Pittsburgh with his family following a job opportunity 9 years ago.
Some of the most recent exhibits Gadi has been a part of are the Martinis with Monet sponsored by the Cranberry Artists Network, which was juried by Pat Barefoot.
He is a member of The Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors. He exhibited in 40 sculptures in Millvale's Riverfront Park as part of the first SculptureFest. And he was featured in a Trib Live article about the “Please, touch! Handle with Care” exhibit at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art.
