A SWEET FAREWELL: WHY YOUR BODY WON’T MISS SUGAR

Monday, October 16 at 7 p.m.

From cravings to crashing, eating too much sugar can lead to symptoms like weight gain, elevated blood sugar, and high blood pressure. Join health coach Sara Richter as she explains the effects of sugars and preservatives in your body and how you can transform your eating habits. She will go over some tactics to minimize sugar in your diet and help you come up with an action plan that will stick like honey!

This informative session will include samples of snacks and healthy recipes to take home and try for yourself. Registration is required.

INDIAN COOKING: SUNDAL

Monday, October 23, 2017 – 7 p.m.

Our favorite Indian cook, Ann Manchella, will demonstrate the preparation of another tasty vegetarian food from South India: Sundal. Full of protein, this chick pea dish makes a healthy, low fat and low oil snack. Sundal is quick to prepare and is typically made with only a few ingredients. It is made to be eaten on its own, without any dipping or sauce.

Watch her preparation and taste a generous sample. Copies of the recipe will be available for you to take home to try it for yourself. Registration is required.

Do you remember growing up in the 90's, watching actual music videos on MTV and wishing you had Cher's closet from Clueless? Miss eating Ring Pops while watching Rugrats and Hey Arnold? Let us put a spell on you at this throwback Halloween party and transport you back to your childhood of Are You Afraid of the Dark and Spice Girls costumes. We'll watch Hocus Pocus, create some spooky crafts, share fun and quick costume ideas, and eat classic snacks like Pop Rocks and Fun Dip. So, come dressed as your favorite character or sporting a throwback shirt and prepare for an evening full of tricks, treats, and totally 90's fun! Registration is required.
