BOOKSHELF BINGO IS BACK!

Bookshelf Bingo began on Thursday, June 1 and concludes on Thursday, August 31. Interested adults may register for the program at the upper level reference desk. Each book you read, you get a stamp on the Bingo sheet and an entry to win a prize. When you get a Bingo, you get an extra entry for a prize. The more you read, the better your chance to win!

NATHANIEL HAWTHORNE: THE HAUNTED MIND

Massachusetts author Nathaniel Hawthorne focused on tales and short stories for most of his career. Rob Velella will read some of his short works which explore the dark side of human nature. A question and answer session will follow the performance.

MEDICARE: PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER

Are you 65 or over and thinking about retiring. If so, it's time to think about Medicare. In this educational presentation, you will learn about Medicare “Parts,” how much Medicare costs, what choices you have with Medicare, as well as when you should enroll. Registration is required.

AN INTRODUCTION TO ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years in various cultures for medicinal and health purposes. Essential oil uses range from aromatherapy, household cleaning products, natural medicine, and personal beauty care. They have been a source of alternative and holistic wellness for many and are becoming mainstream with the movement to “green” our lifestyles. In this class, we will learn about this history of essential oils, the distillation process and the many ways to incorporate essential oils into your daily life. Registration is required.
