hosted by Urban Impact
Did you know that over 40% of children in America are growing up in homes without their fathers? The impact of fatherlessness on children and society at large is astounding – 90% of homeless and runaway children are fatherless, 70% of juveniles in state operated institutions come from fatherless homes, 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes, 71% of teen pregnancies are girls from fatherless homes, and children in fatherless homes are 4 times more likely to be poor.
But here is the good news – there are men in Pittsburgh who are stepping up to make a difference in the lives of fatherless children, as well as their own children. This includes Mike Tomlin, Head Coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tomlin’s own life experience has inspired him to join forces with Rev. Dr. Ed Glover, Founder & President of the Urban Impact Foundation, to present the ManUp Pittsburgh conference.
Men will also be able to attend practical breakout sessions led by area pastors that focus on issues such as being a dad to a daughter, discovering your value and worth, raising teenagers, and more. Coach Tomlin will host a breakout focusing on how coaches can positively influence their players. This year will also feature a brand-new session specifically designed for military veterans.
The conference is recommended for all men ages 15 and up and is $45 per person, which includes breakfast and lunch.Visit Event Website for More Info
