Cranberry tells kids: take a hike!

A series of nature hikes for parents and children as young as 4 will take place in Cranberry Community Park this summer. Each of the hikes is themed, most last an hour, and most are offered only once this year. They include:

Saturday, June 17. Animal Tracks Hike for those 4 and up starting at 9:00 AM at the Community Park Nature Trail. The program fee is $5 for residents, $7 for non-residents.

Saturday, July 8 and Saturday, August 12. Full Moon Hike for those 6 and older starting at 9:00 PM at the Community Park Nature Trail. The program fee is $5 for residents, $7 for non-residents.

Friday, July 28. Kids 5 and older will craft firefly jars Firefly Night at the Cranberry Municipal Center starting at 7:00 PM. The program fee is $13 for residents, $15 for non-residents.

Saturday, August 19. Children 4 and up will each receive a bug catcher for the All About Bugs hike starting at 9:00 AM at the Community Park Nature Trail. The program fee is $5 for residents, $7 for non-residents.

Registration for each hike is available in person at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center Parks & Recreation Information Desk, online at the Township Web site, www.cranberry4FUN.com/Register, or by phone at 724-779-4FUN (4386). The program fees are for each individual, including parents accompanying their children. Fees are payable at the time of registration.
