Tea & Tee event

A Victorian Tea and Tee Time Golf Classic

Hope Grows announces its next "Tea & Tee" event, which combines its fourth annual A Victorian Tea and its second annual Tee Time Golf Classic. Presented by UPMC for Life, funds raised from both events will enable Hope Grows -- a non-profit organization focused on caregiver support -- to continue providing support services and educational training to help family caregivers in the Greater Pittsburgh region. A Victorian Tea is an afternoon tea party where guests can enjoy hors d'oeuvres, camaraderie, a purse raffle, and auction bidding, all while savoring a variety of teas including a limited-edition signature tea blend made especially for the event by Tea Sponsor, Cafe Kolache. A guest speaker, to be announced, will provide valuable caregiving insights to help inform and inspire. The Tea will also feature the artistic flavor of artist and horticulturist, Kaitlyn Caramela; and a special musical performance by the St. John Neumann String Ensemble. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in The Club at Shadow Lakes' Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $40 for the tea and $60 for the tea plus optional dinner with the golfers. The Tee Time Golf Classic will be played in an 18-hole, four-person, scramble format at The Club at Shadow Lakes Golf Course. This day of sport and goodwill kicks off at 9:00 a.m. and offers skills contests and prizes. Super Tickets can be purchased at the event or prior to the event for entry into special contests including a $100,000 shot and a million dollar shot! Golf packages are $100 per golfer and include breakfast, lunch, cocktail reception, and dinner. Proceeds benefit the programs of Hope Grows, which provide much-needed caregiver assistance including individual counseling, support groups, resources, and therapeutic respite activities for family caregivers; and professional training to educate the professional health care community about family caregiver needs, issues, and resources. Hope Grows' long-range programming includes plans for the Hope House bed and breakfast, which will offer overnight retreats for caregivers.
