The Library will be closed for Staff Development Day on Friday, May 19, Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day and on Tuesday, May 30 for new computer installation. Northland Public Library's Semi-Annual Spring Book Sale · Friday, May 5, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. · Saturday, May 6, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. · Sunday, May 7, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. - $5 Bag Sale (Northland provides the bags!) We have gently used books, CDs, audio books and children's items for sale. Pricing is as follows: Hardback $2 each or 3 for $5 Over-sized Paperback $1 each or 3 for $2 General Paperback 3 for $1 DVD $1 CD $1 Talking Book on CD $2 Children’s Books $5 per box(we supply) or $.50 each ADULT SPECIAL PROGRAMMING Registration is required for the following as noted. WILDFLOWER WALK May 5th, 2017 – 9AM-10AM – Location: North Park – Pie Traynor Field Join us to admire the flowers in bloom! North Park Rangers will take participants on a walk through the park to look for the different flowers that are in bloom. Learn about which flowers bloom when, as well as where to find different species. Participants should meet at 9 a.m. in the Pie Traynor Field parking lot located at S Ridge Dr. in Allison Park. Registration is required. SKIN CANCER: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW While those rays might be great for boosting Vitamin D, they pose a serious risk to our skin. Join dermatologist Dr. Alan Solter on Thursday, May 11 at 7 p.m. to learn about skin cancer and how it's treated. There will also be a discussion about which sunscreens to use, their safety, and what those SPF numbers mean. Registration is required. GET CRAFTY @ NORTHLAND: Patriotic Tote Bags Join us on Monday, May 15 from 7-8:30 p.m. for our next craft. Participants will start with a blank canvas tote & embellish it with eraser stamped stars, as well as straw stamped fireworks, using red & blue fabric paint. The cost to participate is $15 per person, which covers all supplies and instruction. Please register.
