La Roche to Host Community College Night
Community college students will be able to explore the benefits of transferring to La Roche College on Monday, Feb. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Community College Night provides an opportunity for students to meet with admissions representatives and discover how merit-based scholarships make transferring to La Roche affordable. Participants will explore academic programs, hear from current transfer students, and learn about the College’s generous transfer credit policy and articulation agreements. Students also are welcome to attend class, tour campus and have dinner in the Cantellops Dining Hall.
Director of Graduate Studies & Adult Education Hope Schiffgens said, “This event is ideal for anyone who wants to make an easy transition to a four-year institution. Students will get an inside look at the La Roche campus, classrooms and academic programs, and they’ll learn how we make the most of the college credit they’ve already earned.”
The College accepts up to 90 transferable credits, and those with an associate degree receive a CORE waiver. La Roche currently has transfer articulation agreements with the following community colleges: Allegheny County, Beaver County, Butler County, Harrisburg Area, Penn Highlands, Philadelphia and Westmoreland County.
Qualifying transfer students can receive merit-based scholarships up to $15,000. Phi Theta Kappa members receive an additional scholarship of $1,500.
