Visit Belsnickel, the German Santa Claus Helper
Old Economy Village
Children and their families will have a chance to visit with Belsnickel, the German Santa Claus helper and the keeper of the naughty and nice book on Sunday, December 18th from Noon until 4:00 p.m. All children under the age of 10 will receive a small gift. Light refreshments will be served. Participants will also be able to tour Old Economy Village and view the nineteenth century era Christmas décor. This program is being underwritten with a grant from The Jack Buncher Foundation. This grant has provided free admission to Old Economy Village on Sundays throughout 2016 for the site’s Centennial Celebration. This is the last Sunday in 2016 that Old Economy Village will be open for tours.

Old Economy Village is a gemstone site of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Old Economy Village preserves and presents the life, thought, and material culture of the Harmony Society, a highly successful and entrepreneurial 19 the century religious community. Old Economy Village is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and is actively supported by the Friends of Old Economy Village which is a non-profit community-based organization. It is part of Ambridge’s Economy National Historic District and is among the region’s most important historic sites.
