The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake, in beautiful Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH, offers a wonderful destination wedding site that appeals to Pittsburgh area couples. The scenic wedding spot, which is all of the things other destination locations can be, including gorgeous and glamorous, has the benefit of being just over a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh, making it easy for guests and families.

“The lodge has truly become a destination wedding site. We have a full-service resort with a relaxing, lakeside location perfect for dream-come-true weddings,” said Director of Sales & Marketing Daisy Hall.

The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake is located at Geneva State Park in Ohio right on Lake Erie’s shore. The resort, nestled in the heart of Ohio Wine Country, provides a lovely, natural setting for the smallest weddings up to those with 280 guests.

The lodge just completed its renovation of their Grand Ballroom in time for 2019 weddings. “It is completely refurbished and upgraded and absolutely beautiful. The new look complements all color palettes and offers an upscale ambiance,” Hall said.

The ballroom opens up to an outdoor patio that has a fire pit and outdoor heaters, extending guest space.

The lakefront gazebo offers a gorgeous backdrop for the bride and groom to have the ceremony and/or photo sessions with the nearby state park offering even more scenic photo options including wooden bridges, beach access and more.

“We have many wedding packages complete with rehearsal dinners. Our on-site catering staff can work with couples on any ideas and dietary needs,” Hall said, “Of course weddings are customizable, so if guests have an idea, we can make it happen.”

Many couples will also use The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake for bridal showers and bachelor/bachelorette parties prior to the big day.

“We have a lot of brides who want to relax and create memories instead of just having a quick dinner or going to bars for their bachelorette parties, so they will come and stay here for a couple of days,” explained Hall. “Many will do a wine tour, or for the more adventurous, we have a zipline tour offered through Lake Erie Canopy Tours on-site.”

The bachelorette parties have become so popular that the lodge now offer a Zip & Sip package where groups can take advantage of the zipline course one day, then enjoy a wine tour arranged by the lodge the next day that includes shuttle service.

“Guests just sit back, enjoy a few of the local wineries and don’t have to worry about getting from place to place,” Hall said. There are more than 25 wineries in the area and four daily shuttle buses available at the lodge, including a Signature Immersion Tour on Saturdays with vintner meet-and-greets, private tastings and more.

Guests can also take advantage of the 109 guest rooms or one of the 25 two-bedroom cottages that sleep six, which is perfect for multigenerational families attending weddings and showers. Other amenities at the lodge that are available for wedding guests include both indoor and outdoor pools; four shuttles to area wineries; indoor and outdoor hot tubs (open year-round); bike, snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals; and a 24-hour fitness center. Lake Erie Canopy Tours also offers aerial climbing courses in addition to the zipline course.

Golf cart rental services are now available for guests to make the quarter-mile drive to the beach at the state park or to ride into Geneva-on-the-Lake’s ‘strip district,’ a mile-long strip of restaurants, arcades, mini-golf, go-karts, shops and other attractions. Lodge guests can also walk or jog along the paved trail from the lodge to the beach and other trails in Geneva State Park.

“Something new this year is our boat rentals over at Lake Erie Canopy Tours. There are single and tandem kayaks as well as swan pedal boats,” said Hall. “If you put two of the swan boats head-to-head, it forms a heart, which makes a perfect backdrop for wedding photos.”

Many bridal couples also extend wedding festivities by offering a ‘morning after breakfast’ and host a brunch the morning after the wedding at this inclusive location.

From start to finish, The Lodge at Geneva on-the-Lake’s professionals assist bridal couples on every step of their journey.

“We like to say that we offer the site for storybook weddings, and the lodge is perfect for your next chapter,” Hall said.
