Zachary’s Wish for Make-A-Wish

Second Annual Loaded Potato Bar
Fri., Apr. 12, 4:30-7pm. St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1965 Ferguson Rd. Hosted by North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO). Lenten-friendly dinner with baked potatoes (white or sweet) multiple self-serve toppings, drink and dessert. Take-out available. Light entertainment. Pay what you can with proceeds supporting NHCO’s many programs that benefit local families in need.

Bow Wow Bingo Soiree´
Sat., Apr. 13, 6-10:30pm. Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd., Pgh., 15237. 21+ event with a cocktail hour and sit-down dinner. Shaler Garden Club Plant Sale
Sat., May 4, 9am-noon. Kiwanis Park, 399 Wetzel Rd., Glenshaw. 66th annual plant sales with hardy perennials from members’ gardens at bargain prices along with herbs, vegetables, houseplants, Mothers’ Day potted arrangements and bulbs. A Toast to Spring at Deacons Tavern

Free Shred-It Event

In addition to shredding unwanted documents, individuals can also bring electronic equipment, including laptops, computers, cell phones, printers and non-Freon containing appliances to recycle. Spanish Immersion Pilot Program Sign Up
Mon., Apr. 1- May 17. Online program with 25 students randomly selected on June 6. Open to current kindergartners from all four Fox Chapel elementary schools. Classes will be primarily in Spanish. Must meet Fox Chapel’s readiness criteria and English must be the primary language spoken in the student home. More info

La Roche College Summer Courses at Reduced Tuition
Starting Mon. May 27, La Roche College will offer summer courses at reduced tuition rates. Classes include a selection of traditional and online courses, with multiple sessions running from three to 10 weeks. Free on-campus housing is available to students who enroll full-time (six credits for domestic students; 12 credits for students in the English as a Second Language program.) Visit to apply online.

Christian 12-Step Recovery

Free phone and online support for anyone providing unpaid care to dependent children, spouses, parents, sibling, relatives, friends or neighbors. Part of the Hope Grows nonprofit organization.
