On Jan. 24, several members of the Pittsburgh Pirates visited with children at Passavant Memorial Homes and participated in the Painting With a Twist program. The event was part of the Pittsburgh Pirate’s annual CARE-a-van program, where players participate in charity events over a three-day period leading up to 2019 PiratesFest.
Players J.T. Brubaker, Cole Tucker and Joey Cora along with Pirates’ coaches helped children paint pictures during their visit. Passavant Memorial Homes, a Warrendale-based nonprofit organization with homes throughout western Pennsylvania, provides services for children with intellectual disabilities, autism and behavioral health issues.
