1st Annual Night at the Races

Dance Marathon
Mar. 1 & 2. North Hills Middle School, 55 Rochester Rd., 15229. North Hills High School’s Student Council and Hands for Service Club will host their fifth annual THON for students in grades 9-12 from 5-11 p.m. on March 2. Community members are invited to the first Community THON on March 2 from 12-3 p.m. The first-ever THON Jr. for students in grades 7-8 will be held on March 1 from 6-9 p.m. Proceeds from the three events go to Make-A-Wish and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. Winds of Change Concert
Wed., Mar. 27, 7pm. Ambridge High School, 909 Duss Ave, Ambridge, 15003. First-ever outreach concert featuring students in grades 9-12, adult musicians from Ambridge Area High School, and musicians from the Beaver County Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Monaca Cornet Band and Swingin’ BopCats Big Band. In lieu of admission, nonperishable food items will be accepted for the We Care Food Pantry of the Baden United Methodist Church.

Spin Your Wheels
Sat., Apr. 6, 9am-4pm. Aspinwall Riverfront Park, 285 River Ave., Aspinwall, 15215. Choose to ride or participate in eight different 45-minute fitness classes including Kick It, HIIT Bootcamp, Zumba, Yoga and more. There will also be a basket raffle, refreshments, food, and a DJ. Register at Cost $25-50 per class or donate at Proceeds benefit Riding for the Handicapped of Western PA (RHWPA).

Associated Artists of Pittsburgh Screening & Exhibition
Mar. 1-17, by online submission. Any artist 18 or older who maintains a residence or studio within a 150-mile radius of Pittsburgh can submit work. Artists must submit three to five pieces of recent work, an artists’ statement, resume or short bio. More info,

Yarn Bombing
Mar. 2-30, 9am–9pm. Northland Library, 300 Cumberland Rd., Pgh., 15237. Yarn bombing is a fun, bright type of art installation which employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted items and fiber art to celebrate public spaces. One of the best local examples of this was the Knit the Bridge project in downtown Pittsburgh in the summer of 2013. The display will encompass
 both floors of the library and will again feature a scavenger hunt for kids.

Cranberry Artists Network: Seeing in a New Light

Multicultural Night

The Art of Orchids

Seeking Seniors Needing Minor Home Repairs
Fri., Mar. 1, 9am-4pm. North Hills Community Outreach, 1975 Ferguson Rd., 15101. North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO), in partnership with Stay at Home Youth Mission Camp and Rebuilding Together, is accepting applications from low-income seniors for free minor home repairs. Senior applicants must live in northern Allegheny County north of Pittsburgh. Fox Chapel Seniors Invited to Dress Rehearsal

CLIMB® Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery
