NHCO Collecting Spring Dinner Items
Mon.-Fri., Feb. 1-Mar. 8, 9am-4pm. North Hills Community Outreach, 1975 Ferguson Rd., Allison Park. Collecting items to provide a complete spring dinner for families that use the food pantry. Needed items include butter, jarred applesauce, cans of pineapple or fruit cocktail, boxes of mashed or scalloped potatoes, dinner rolls or biscuit mix. National Aviary Summertime Somewhere Event
Fri., Feb. 22, 6-10pm. National Aviary, 700 Arch St., 
Pgh., 15212. Guests 21+ can explore the Aviary’s immersive habitats at night including the Tropical Rainforest where Wookiee the sloth is likely to be active, enjoy a tropical drink alongside colorful parrots, or challenge friends to rousing summertime lawn games. Wine, signature tropical cocktails and tasty brews from Penn Brewery available for purchase; tasty, tropical food from Atria's (light bites included with ticket, heavy hors d'oeuvres and meal items available for purchase). Live music courtesy of Joel Lindsey. Cranberry Artists Network Opens Exhibit
February 1-28, Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Township, 16066. Three artists will display work during the month of February at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center’s Back Hall Gallery. Gadi Leshem is a self-taught sculptor, whose main interest is classical figurative sculpting. Dee Grieb will display her watercolor paintings and Krishna Rathod is a pen-and-ink artist who creates intricate drawings of figures and people. For more information, visit

Free Tax Preparation

North Hills Community Outreach is once again offering free tax preparation for low-income individuals through the United Way’s Free Tax Prep program. Appointments required and must be made by calling United Way’s helpline, 2-1-1. For households with one person, annual income must be $30,000 or less. For households with more than one person, annual income must be $50,000 or less. 

AARP Tax Prep

Combating Human Trafficking

Shaler Area Middle School Presents Grease
Feb. 15, 7pm, Feb. 16, 2pm., Shaler Middle School auditorium, 1810 Mount Royal Blvd. In one of its largest productions in recent years, the Shaler musical follows a group of students from the fictional Rydell High School as they navigate storylines of peer pressure, values and love. The play features a cast of more than 60 students. Tickets are available at the door: $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for students.

Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Roundtable

Les Miserables School Edition

Orchid Society Annual Show
