Help Build an Addition
Sat., Dec. 1–Jan. 2019, online anytime. Micheline Ouedraogo is studying accounting at La Roche College, then she will return home to help her sisters in Tamssin, Burkina Faso, Africa, where there are more than 110 children waiting to go to school. They run a Christian school where there is no tuition, and the children receive a meal each day. There are no state funds to help. Give at  or email Suzie

The Children’s Foundation has partnered with dozens of local retailers and organizations to support the thousands of children who will rely on the Children’s Foundation this holiday season. Olive Branch Fair Trade Shop

Community Christmas Carol Sing and Light-up Night
Sun., Dec. 2, 2:30-6pm. Rochester Area School District, 540 Reno St., Rochester. Enjoy Christmas music, peace and good cheer at the second annual Community Christmas Carol and Light-up Night. Lift your voices, even if you think you can’t sing­­—everyone, young and old, is welcome. A donation of nonperishable food item for Faith Restorations of Beaver County’s food bank is requested.

To Play or Replay Madrigal Dinner
Sat., Dec. 8, 6pm. Hiland Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 845 Perry Hwy., 15237. North Hills High School Choirs will hold their eighth annual Madrigal Dinner. A meal will be served while the Madrigal Players perform a 15th century-style skit and music. Tickets $15 adults, $10 students reserved at Raffle baskets will be available, proceeds benefit the North Hills Choral Program’s continuing activities.

EduNations Benefit Concert
Fri., Dec. 14, 7pm. Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Rd., 15101. Featuring Christian music artist Fernando Ortega. EduNations is a nonprofit devoted to building schools across Africa, starting in Sierra Leone. The concert is free, and a goodwill offering is encouraged with all proceeds going to EduNations.

National Aviary Holiday Lights
Sat., Dec. 1-Jan. 2019, 10am-5pm. National Aviary, 700 Arch St., Pgh., 15212. The National Aviary will be swathed in the glow of sparkling outdoor and indoor holiday lights, along with lighted trees and wreaths. Bring the whole family to enjoy the displays while strolling the hallways and habitats and enjoying up-close interaction with more than 500 birds. Extended hours to 9pm on Dec. 13 and 20. Adults $16, kids $14.

Wines of Christmas Yet to Come
Thurs., Dec. 6, 7pm. Northland Library, 300 Cumberland Rd., 15237. Professional wine educator John Eld will lead an evening of wine and merriment. Food accompanies each wine. Must register in person with $25 fee upon registration. Limited seating, 21+ event. 

Festival of Lights
Fri., Dec. 7, 3-9pm. La Roche College and Divine Providence, 9000 Babcock Blvd., 15237. This family festival begins with a craft show and conclude with a fireworks display over the La Roche campus. The evening will feature activities for children, a bounce house, a visit from Santa Claus, food trucks, live ice sculpting and carriage rides. Free admission. Full schedule

Repeat the Sounding Joy
Sat., Dec. 8, 6:30pm. Holy Family Catholic Parish, 521 Seventh Ave., New Brighton. Beaver Valley Choral Society present a special Christmas concert. Adult choir is over 100 voices strong with a chamber orchestra and a bell choir. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. 

A Visit to Bethlehem

Sealarks Women’s Group Christmas Gathering

21st Annual Senior Holiday Event
