Kids and adults alike had fun at the Great Birthday Bake.
On Sunday, Nov. 11, the Double Tree by Hilton Hotels Pittsburgh-Cranberry hosted the second annual Great Birthday Bake, Pittsburgh’s first kids’ baking competition, in support of Beverly’s Birthdays.
Thirty-five bakers gathered at the Double Tree to compete in five premier categories. The event was open to the public and more than 350 people attended the event, tasting their way through the delicious cookie extravaganza! After sampling the creative and colorful creations, the guests and judges cast votes for the winners.
The event was put together by Double Tree staff and Beverly's Birthdays. The nonprofit raised more than $4,000 to support their mission of giving birthday parties to homeless children and families in need while cultivating the creativity and passion of 35 local kids.
“The Great Birthday Bake is such a fantastic, family-friendly event to support our organization,” said Megs Yunn, founder of Beverly’s Birthdays. “It teaches children the value of giving back in a fun, meaningful, sweet way. We were beyond impressed by the skill the young bakers showed and how invested they were in the competition. Additionally, it helped us reach new supporters of the organization.”
