NORTH HILLS AREA SENIOR CARE OPTIONS

According to recent statistics, the city of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County contain one of the highest concentrations of older individuals in the nation. And in the next two decades, this number is expected to grow. As these seniors age, many of them will choose, often for health and safety reasons, to move out of their homes and into retirement communities or assisted living facilities.

For our Perspective on this relatively new service, we talked with Kathy Belcastro, its Program Coordinator for the past seven years. She is a graduate of Carlow College and a Registered Nurse. Her career includes working in medical surgery units, home care and a school nurse.
