A
full body CT scan in less than 10 seconds, non-invasive and an MRI
machine with a foot of head-room, extra leg room and elbow room –
visions from the future of imaging? At UPMC St. Margaret these imaging
innovations are a reality and are now available to patients.
This past April, UPMC St. Margaret unveiled a new Imaging Center with
enhanced equipment, and patient services. The location of the new
Imaging Center is ideal for in-patient and emergency room imaging as
well as outpatient testing.
In addition to the new Imaging Center, UPMC St. Margaret provides
250,000 patients in northeastern Allegheny County and the Alle-Kiski
Valley with convenient, state-of-the art medical care. The Aspinwall
campus also includes two medical office buildings with capacity for
100 healthcare professionals, as well as cardiac rehabilitation and a
sports medicine center.
UPMC St. Margaret has been named among the nation’s top 100 performing
hospitals in a study measuring quality care, efficiency, financial
performance and community growth. The hospital has also been named to
Consumer Digest’s list of “50 Exceptional U.S. Hospitals.”
The hospital offers complete outpatient services, state-of-the-art
surgical services, oncology services, bariatric surgery, cardiac care,
orthopedic surgery and comprehensive rehabilitation services, just to
name a few.
St. Margaret’s history in the region dates back to 1898, when the
hospital was dedicated at its original location on 46th street in
Lawrenceville. In 1980, St. Margaret moved from Pittsburgh to its
current site near Aspinwall. In 1997, St. Margaret became the first of
several Pittsburgh area hospitals to merge with the University of
Pittsburgh Medical Center. More information may be found at http://stmargaret.upmc.com.
